Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Walton Beach - Eglin Area by IHG

This is the nicest IHG property we've ever seen! It's brand new and everything is clean and extremely comfortable. We diverted from our drive a bit to stay here given the other great reviews and it was well worth it! The staff was great, rooms updated and beautiful and access easy.

I cannot say enough good things about this property. I have stayed here over a dozen times in the last six months and everything has been perfect. The rooms, facilities, staff, parking, etc., are top notch. The little things like the fresh cookies to the complimentary beer and wine are just a few of the things that make this property a step above all others.

A great stay at a great price. The hotel is fresh looking, clean with friendly / professional, and hepful staff. Our room was spacious, relaxing, with a comfortable bed and powerful hot shower. Breakfast was really good and they even had an EV charger! Special call out to Marcela for her 5 star friendly service, as were all the staff through our stay. I highly recommend.

My husband booked this room for my son and I after a tragic loss in the family. Check-in was still very simple. Upon finding out details for the reason for travel, the hotel staff went above and beyond to express condolences and care. Specifically, Cloi and Francine were the sweetest people I have met in a long time. They lifted me up with kind words and hugs, even. It was such a relief to know there are still kind and compassionate people in this world. Cloi and Francine even delivered flowers and a card to our room. I was blown away. Holiday Inn is so blessed to have employees like these two ladies. They made our stay. This was honestly the best Holiday Inn Express that I have ever stayed in. The lobby and exterior were very well kept and clean as well. I will be returning and have recommended this location to others as well because of Ms. Cloi and Ms. Francine; such phenomenal ladies!

1.17.26 - 1.19.26 - From the moment we barely stepped in the door we were heartily greeted with a warm welcome. Every employee that we encountered were kind, welcoming, helpful, and they seemed happy to be in the hospitality industry and work there. I don't have a negative thing to say about our experience; except I hate carpet in hotel rooms. My husband forgot that and gifted me this stay for my birthday weekend. In fact, we used to stay on the Ft. Walton Beach strip; this is our forever home away from while in that area now; especially since it was quiet. Other things that sealed our decision are below..... - this is a newer property so it is still gorgeous, clean, and looks fresh. - the outer perimeter and grounds were spotless. No cigarette butts on the ground, no litter, I didn't even smell nicotine anywhere. - the room was spotless and freshly cleaned. - it's on the quieter side of the city. However, most of your staples and entertainment is not far (within a mile drive). - I won a journal and rewards points during our stay. - free biscuits for doggies and kids are upfront. - the breakfast buffet was amazing. Fresh coffee, omelettes, a variety of protein, gluten-free items (important for me), the selection was on point. - quiet hours are from 10p - early morning. I loved that! 10/10.... Easily! The hotel is truly fantastic. We loved everything about it. We spent three very comfortable nights there. The cleanliness is better than in your own home. The scent throughout the entire hotel — both in the common areas and the rooms — is wonderful. The staff is super friendly. We came for work, and while I was working in the business area, my children were with me drawing. When the reception staff noticed, they immediately came over to offer them coloring supplies. The Christmas decorations were beautiful — everything was so well taken care of. Breakfast didn’t have many options, but there was delicious coffee available to guests all day long. We couldn’t enjoy the pool because the weather was really bad, but we did use the gym, and it was clean, with towels and water available. A huge thank you to everyone working at this hotel — from reception to housekeeping, and Marcela in the breakfast area. They were extremely kind, hardworking, and always had a smile and a kind word. People like this truly make a difference. I would come back 100 times.

Staff friendly and helpful. Parking lot area felt safe. Room was clean and comfortable. Very nice hotel. Infront of hotel there is a nice open field/park that we were able to throw a football and stretch after our long drive. Other people were out walking the area for exercise. Felt like a very safe area.

Rooms are clean! Hotel is still brand new! 4 starts because there were a lot of little things that added up during the stay. Starting off... 1) I booked a 1 King Suite room. A day before I was scheduled to arrive, I noticed in the IHG app my room was displaying as a 1 King Standard Room Extra Space. I called the hotel to see what happened and get it corrected. CSR said there was a problem with the computer system but switched it back to the 1 King Suite (which I verified in the IHG App after I got off the phone). There was a little confusion during the check in process about which category room I was booked in. During my stay, I checked the IHG app and low and behold, it was back to the 1 King Standard Extra Space. IHG puts the 1 King Extra space in the Standard Room Category, beneath the Suite category. Couldn't confirm the exact difference in square footage between the suite and extra space room, and there admittedly isn't a huge difference between a suite and a standard room, but there is a difference in price. 2) Upon entering the room, I noticed a small puddle of liquid in the bathroom on the floor (think sheet of paper). Looked like water (I initially thought it was from the shower, but the problem didn't occur again during my stay). 3) Housekeeping came during my stay. They took away dirty towels but didn't replenish them. Additionally, toiletry items like shampoo and body wash are locked fixtures, but they didn't replace them when they were getting low. On the positive side, the front desk agent on staff was very responsive and was able to provide me with any basic toiletry items I left behind and the cookies were great. Minor corrections and this hotel is easily a gem in the Florida panhandle
